D.J. Demers got a shout-out earlier in the week on America’s Got Talent by a comedian contestant who’s hard of hearing, but that’s not how Demers described himself in his Tonight Show debut on Friday. Demers said: “I’m bad at being deaf. I’m not good at hearing, either.” That’s why he brought an interpreter with him onstage for his deaf homies. But as he reminded us, reading lips has been brutal for him the past couple years. Thanks, masks!
