  • SF SKETCHFEST: Jan. 7-23, 2022 — San Francisco, CALIFORNIA — SF Sketchfest announces dates for the 20th anniversary of the comedy festival. After hitting pause on the live festival in 2021 due to COVID, the San Francisco Comedy Festival returns to celebrate its milestone 20th year January 7-23, 2022. Bringing people together in person to laugh and celebrate comedy is what SF Sketchfest does best, and for the 20th Anniversary festival, audiences can expect another outstanding year of programming in venues across the city including sketch, stand-up, alternative comedy, music, improv, films, cast reunions, tributes, live podcasts, storytelling, panels and more.SF Sketchfest is now accepting submissions for the 2022 comedy festival. Acts welcome to apply include stand-up comedians, improv/sketch groups, solo shows, podcasts, musical comedy acts, self-produced short comedic plays and alternative comedy acts. Find the application form with all details at: 
  • SLO COMEDY FESTIVAL: Feb 24-27, 2022 — San Luis Obispo, CALIFORNIA. The 11th SLO Comedy Festival returns after a year off for COVID to announce that submissions open on Sept 12, 2021 to all comedians 18 and older.
  • MOONTOWER JUST FOR LAUGHS AUSTIN — April 2022 — Austin, TEXAS. Moontower Just For Laughs Austin promises to add even more venues to the 2022 Festival, extending the festival from 4 to 10 days, and add even more specialty programming. Details, dates and website forthcoming.
  • NASHVILLE COMEDY FESTIVAL: April 18-24, 2022 — Nashville, TENNESSEE — “The funniest week in Nashville” will kick off on April 18 with a Zanies Comedy Club staple–New Material Monday, where an incredible, surprise lineup of comedians from Nashville and beyond test out their new material every week. On April 20, local comedian and host of the 2022 Nashville Comedy Festival, Joshua Black will present the Music City Roast Battle, during which participating comedians will trade insults, hoping to advance to the final round. On April 21, superstar Bert Kreischer “The Machine” will bring his energetic, and shirtless, brand of stand up to the Opry House, followed by two already-sold-out show at Ryman Auditorium on April 22. All three shows are a part of his just announced The Berty Boy Relapse Tour.   Also on April 22: Current heavyweight champ of comedy Bill Burr will destroy Bridgestone Arena during his Slight Return Tour, and Janeane Garofalo and Shane Gillis and Friends double team Zanies with back to back shows. On April 23, enjoy Brunch of Laughs at Zanies and then catch rising female powerhouse Taylor Tomlinson at Ryman Auditorium on her first-ever theater tour, Deal With It.  


  • THE BOOM CHICAGO COMEDY FESTIVAL: July 24 to Aug. 1, 2021 — Amsterdam, THE NETHERLANDS. Hybrid mix of live shows in Amsterdam, and daily “Comedy Conversations” with alumni livestreamed from NYC and LA. Comedy Conversation Pass.   • EDINBURGH FRINGE: Aug. 6-30, 2021 — SCOTLAND. Details TBA. Instructions and guidelines for performers wanting to put on a show at the Fringe. Tickets and show lineups began going on sale July 1. First comedy shows (of only 16 so far) include Daniel Sloss, Andrew Maxwell, Mark Nelson. NOTE: As of July 6, the US remains in the “Amber” list of nations, so any Americans performing or visiting must quarantine for 10 days AFTER arriving in Scotland before venturing out to shows.
  • BURBANK COMEDY FESTIVAL: Aug. 8-21, 2021 — Burbank, Calif. 2021 edition expected and planned for hybrid of live in-person events as well as virtual showcases. We are accepting submissions for stand-up comedy, sketch/improv groups, comedic short films, variety acts, comedy magic, musical comedy acts, and more!  Non-refundable $50 early-bird submission fee.   • LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL: Sept. 17-19, 2021 — Las Vegas, NEVADA. Life is Beautiful, Las Vegas’ premier three-day music, art, culinary and comedy festival has announced its full comedy line up for “The Kicker” featuring comedian and best-selling author Sarah Cooper, the hit “Sibling Rivalry” podcast featuring Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change, as well as performances from Ziwe, iconicstar and executive producer of her self-titled Showtime variety series,Emmy-nominated writer and comedian Sam Jay and “Crazy Rich Asians” actor Nico Santos. The laugh-packed lineup of top and upcoming standup comedians, dazzling drag queens, acclaimed podcast shows and more adds an additional layer to the festival’s already impressive collection of musical acts and experiences. Open to all festival goers, The Kicker stage is located at Venue Vegas and will feature stand-up, variety shows, and podcasts from the top actors and comedians in the industry.   • COACHELLA VALLEY IMPROV/COMEDY FESTIVAL: Oct. 23-24, 2021 — Cathedral City, Calif. — Formerly the Joshua Tree Improv/Comedy Festival, this fest has moved from Joshua Tree to Cathedral City outside of Palm Springs. The committee’s official selections will perform at the Coachella Valley Repertory theater, with performances judged by a live audience to determine an overall winner. Winner(s) offered a paid return engagement. Last year’s overall winner was improv duo “redDoor,” who will be headlining Saturday night and teaching a workshop. Other events being planned for the festival include a special guest appearance by comedy legend Tom Dreesen, a variety of improv and comedy workshops, and more. Submission fee: $25.
