FOX officially announced its debut lineup of new animated series to debut this summer as part of the broadcast network’s new Animation Domination High-Definition (FOX ADHD) late-night block on Saturday nights from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Each of the three new series received orders for six 15-minute episodes, debuting July 27, 2013.
The Lucas Brothers — Kenny and Keith Lucas (photographed above by Mindy Tucker) — will front the tentatively titled Vacation Boy$, about identical twins such as themselves who start a moving company after their uncle dies and leaves them his van. In at least one episode, a misadventure requires the help a wrestler from the 1990s. Who might that be? Hint: The Lucas Brothers say on their Tumblr that “Bret “The Hitman” Hart is their favorite person of all time.”
Dino Stamatopoulos, who previously has created and written multiple animated series for Adult Swim (among them, Moral Orel, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein) and also is known in front of the camera (Community) and behind it (Late Night with Conan O’Brien, TV Funhouse), is the man behind High School USA! — set in a school led by ultra-optimistic (read: naively idealistic) students, with a voice cast that inlcudes Vincent Kartheiser and Mandy Moore.
FOX previously had announced the pickup of Axe Cop. It’s based on an online comic strip and graphic novel created and written by then-five-year-old Malachai Nicolle and his then-30-year-old brother, Ethan. The voice cast for the TV series includes Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Patton Oswalt, Ken Marino, Peter Serafinowicz and weekly guest stars such as Giancarlo Esposito, Tyler The Creator Jonathan Banks, Rob Huebel and Dan Harmon.
Do not be in the least bit surprised to find the other 45 minutes of each Saturday night ADHD block including multiple short videos such as the ones already existing and uploading on the FOX ADHD YouTube page.
