You may have seen some lists floating around with the 2011 crop of New Faces for Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival in 2011, but they forgot about the third batch.
That’s right. In addition to two groups of stand-up comedians showing off their best sets for Montrealers and industry scouts, JFL is introducing a third group of comedic actors who specialize in sketch characters and one-person shows. In other words, the type of people who would be auditioning for Saturday Night Live right about now. As a matter of fact, at least a couple of these comedians already have! I’ll never tell. Until I’m allowed to. Of course.
So who are these New Faces Characters? They are…
Jillian Bell, Jackie Clarke, Paul Downs, Brad Morris, Gil Ozeri, Allyn Rachel, Tim Robinson, Chris Witaske and Henry Zebrowski (from Murderfist)
They join these New Faces of Comedy from 2011:
Cy Amundson, Kevin Barnett, Jerrod Carmichael, Carl Donnelly, Ron Funches, Yannis Pappas, Johnny Pemberton, Sean O’Connor, Mike Recine, Barry Rothbart, Nick Rutherford, Streeter Seidell, Beth Stelling, Dan St. Germain, Nick Turner and Ali Wong
Congrats to all! I look forward to seeing you soon, some of you for the first time, some of you once more to see how you perform in French-Canadian air. Photos, videos and reviews to come!

Not too familiar with the characters, but there are soooooo many names I love among the New Faces.
Jerrod Carmichael, Ron Funches, Sean O’Connor, Barry Rothbart, Beth Stelling, and Dan St. Germain are HILARIOUS! Not to say the other guys aren’t great, but I don’t know their stuff that well.
I actually just got into Ron Funches a few weeks ago and am simultaneously happy I did and angry for not knowing about him sooner. And Sean O’Connor and Beth Stelling are two of my favorite comics right now PERIOD so I hope they do suuuper well at Montreal.
brad morris is the truth
yannis pappas should be a star by now, he is HILARIOUS! check Maurica!! saw him live he’s amazin’!
