Re-enter Roseanne. The hit ABC sitcom, which aired 222 episodes from 1988 to 1997 and peaked at the top of the ratings in its second of nine seasons, is calling for a full reunion (no word on which Becky) in the form of an eight-episode limited series revival.
Deadline broke the news today, with other trade publications quickly confirming it. Deadline reports the revival — with original series EPs Tom Werner, Roseanne Barr, and Bruce Helford plus cast member Sara Gilbert — already is shopping the reunion season, with ABC vying with Netflix, among others. Johnny Galecki stars in The Big Bang Theory on CBS (where Laurie Metcalf is a recurring guest stars) but apparently they’re both on board for the reunion, too.
