Amy Webber: “No Previous Experience” at Edinburgh Fringe 2023

**** (out of 5)

Amy Webber is treating her first Fringe (and she says her first full comedy show, too?!) as a job interview.

She leans into this thematically, presenting her CV, skills and qualifications. That opera degree, she figures she finally can put to good use, writing custom songs for your business, or for you, audience member. She also has previous experience as a teacher, which does come in handy as adult audiences sometimes are not all that different from rowdy children in a classroom. With her mini keyboard, she not only can carry a tune but demonstrates she indeed has operatic pipes. That audience participation bit with the journalist might have been shite, but Webber shows real promise. I give her a hearty recommendation for your next gig.

Amy Webber: No Previous Experience runs through Aug. 27 at Just The Tonic at The Mash House.
