Who survived the first Comedy Clashes of Bring The Funny on NBC?

After four episodes of “Open Mic” showcases of Bring The Funny, which winnowed the field of comedy acts from 40 down to 24, we are now into the first of the “Comedy Clash” episodes, which will reduce the competition in half.

It’s still all a bit quick for audiences to develop any sense of who any of the comedians are who are bringing said funny, but hey, air time in primetime is precious, right?

So we get four clashes (8 acts) per episode, with four winners voted by the judges (Kenan Thompson, Chrissy Teigen and Jeff Foxworthy) to move onto the semifinal rounds.

Who clashed? Who won? Let’s go to the videos!

First up: Comedy magician Jarred Fell vs. puppet Randy Feltface

The judges voted for the human over the puppet voiced by a human!

Then ’twas time for competing sketch acts: Kids These Days vs JK Studios! The judges picked JK Studios! to move on!

Then the judges all favored Tacarra Williams over Jesus Trejo.

Finally, they also chose musical comedian Morgan Jay over musical comedian Kristen Key.

Tune in next Tuesday (although NBC also airs reruns of Bring The Funny over the weekend) to see which acts will join these four in the semis.
