Comedy Central’s “Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle” multi-night broadcast this summer from Montreal’s Just For Laughs

We’ve just received word that Comedy Central’s planned Roast Battle special actually will be broadcast as a weeklong TV showcase competition!

Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle will air over four consecutive nights at the end of July from Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival.

Ross and referee/comedian Brian Moses will lead three nights of bracket-style one-on-one roast comedy competition — the first three nightly episodes (July 28-30) will air the night following the live competition, with the finals on July 31, 2016, broadcast LIVE from L’Astral in Montreal. Tickets are on sale now, although the competitors and judges have yet to be announced. Info:

Roast Battle is the most fun I’ve ever had. Think Fight Club for comedians where anything goes.  Two roasters go head to head and rip each other to pieces while a panel of celebrity judges weigh in,” said Ross. “It’s the Olympics of insults and sometimes feelings get hurt.  I got to give Comedy Central props for having the guts to put something so dangerous on the air.”

Ross, Moses and Comedy Central already have Roast Battle on a four-city road trip that began over the weekend in Austin at Cap City Comedy Club, stopping tonight at its original Tuesday-night home in The Comedy Store’s Belly Room, before heading to Lincoln Hall in Chicago on June 16; and the Gramercy Theatre in New York City on June 19.

Each of these shows is being filmed for Comedy Central, too, and will air as a Road to Roast Battle special at midnight July 24 leading into Montreal week.
