Tracy Morgan makes surprising comeback, presenting final Emmy Award of 2015

Tracy Morgan surprised everyone by appearing to present the final award at the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards.

“It was overwhelming,” Morgan told reporters in the press room backstage afterward. “I miss this stuff. I had to make sure I wasn’t so emotional in the moment. I wanted to let them know I missed them very much.”

It was Morgan’s first public performance and appearance since the June 2014 highway crash that put him and fellow comedian Ardie Fuqua in comas and killed their friend, comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair. Morgan noted that he recently got married, but joked that he’d be back to his old self in no time and that means “getting women pregnant.” He also referenced the 2014 Emmy Awards, when that year’s host Jimmy Kimmel wished him well and looked forward to seeing him in a year. Morgan made good on that Sunday night.
