Seth Meyers moves next door to SNL literally for NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers in 30 Rock’s Studio 8G

Less than one week into 2014 and it’s already a big year for Seth Meyers.

The former head writer of Saturday Night Live and soon-to-be former SNL Weekend Update anchor showed us on Sunday that he’s not moving all that far when he takes over Late Night on Feb. 24, 2014 — in fact, he’s not even leaving the eighth floor. Instead of occupying the sixth-floor studio that Jimmy Fallon, Conan O’Brien and David Letterman had used before him, Meyers is settling into his new digs down the hall from SNL, one studio over in Studio 8G. That’ll, of course, make it that much easier for him to employ SNL cast members in bits to recapture the Weekend Update banter he’ll still be enjoying in SNL’s Studio 8H for a few weeks to come.

For now, this “studio tour” clip is only slightly misleading as an NBC advertisement. But it’ll have to do for now.

Roll it!

Meyers also landed the cover of TIME magazine. Click here for a preview of his talk with James Poniewozik.

And here’s your Late Night with Seth Meyers writing staff. Mike Shoemaker, longtime SNL producer who helped Jimmy Fallon make the leap to Late Night, will be shepherding Meyers into his five-nights-a-week 12:35 a.m. gig, too. Shoemaker and Meyers also collaborated on the animated Hulu series, The Awesomes.
