Watch early Richard Pryor, circa 1964!

This is awesome. Here's a clip of Richard Pryor in one of his first TV appearances, circa 1964, a year after he had moved to New York City. So he talks about that. Plus: Did you know there used to be Coke machines in the subways?

  1. Also the subway stations did used to have soda machines, like he described, where a paper cup would drop down. I remember it being delicious, real fountain Coke. And sometimes the cup wouldn’t drop.
And, mostly off topic, the Union Square station had the best ever soft pretzels, they baked them on the spot.
