My sources tell me that from last night’s show, America will vote four out of the seven stand-ups into the final performance show to compete with Marcus for this season’s title of Last Comic Standing. So who will the final five cylons, er, comedians, be? Stay tuned. Next week’s episode will air July 31 from the Paris hotel/casino in Las Vegas.
That should make for an interesting five-way face-off for the title, because the winner will be crowned on Aug. 7 (Summer Olympics coverage begins Aug. 8) in the finale that also is scheduled to feature appearances by the rest of the top 12, Jon Lovitz, Joel McHale, Gilbert Gottfried, Penn and Teller and last year’s LCS winner, Jon Reep. As a reminder, the winner gets $250,000, a new Honda Pilot, a talent deal at NBC, and an appearance (recurring, or not?) in the Jubilee! show in Vegas. Wait. Just, wait. Do you mean to tell me to tell you that the winner is going to be determined out of a single audience vote from the top 5? That is simply ridiculous! Ridiculous, I say. Ridiculous. Maybe cylons are in charge this year.
Battlestar Galactica references make my heart smile.
