Australian comedian Lou Wall may be dating a short king, but they’re looking for someone to look up to, literally.
Their “farm to table feminism” gaslighting men who are 6-foot-1 by telling them they’re 5-11 may be all good and fun and funny, but Wall is worried about their future when they realizes they’ve has never seen a tall grandmother. So this hour finds Wall on the hunt. There’s the fast-moving slides and rapping that we’ve come to know from Wall, but we also get to watch them interviewing strangers on the streets and in the pubs, asking anyone and everyone if they know any grandmothers who they consider tall.
The truth is out there, and when Wall finds it, they’re devastated. And so are we. We didn’t need to know there may be an actual conspiracy to make sure all old ladies are little old ladies.
Wall is 6-foot-5 and loved playing hide-and-seek as a kid. As Wall grew and grew, they eventually withdrew emotionally and psychologically. But now Wall embraces their height, calling themself Big Lou.
You’ll find yourself getting swept up in Wall’s discoveries and self-discovery, perhaps a bit teary-eyed, but hopeful for the future of tall grandmas. It’s not as diabolically bonkers as Wall’s previous shows. It is more moving and heartwarming, though.
