As half of the sketch-duo Lazy Susan, Freya Parker received a Best Newcomer nomination at the Fringe in 2014. Since then, Parker has popped up all over BBC Radio, as well as onscreen in big movies such as Jurassic World: Dominion and Wonka.
For her sophomore solo show at Edinburgh, though, she finds herself caught between a smartphone and a ring light, not wanting to adapt for the TikTok era, but realizing that she still has to make a name for herself that’s independent and separate from her namesake who does porn. Which continues to make for awkward conversations with her in-law’s friends, and even more awkward pen pals from American prisons. Truth is none of that troubles her so much as the thought of aging or AI. She might be preaching to the proverbial choir here, but for my money, I really hope she gets her “Taps 4 Men” petition to Parliament.
Freya Parker: An Hour Of Decay! plays the Dexter room at Underbelly during the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe.
