Moontower Comedy Festival Announces Lineup for September 2021 In-Person Shows in Austin

The 10th anniversary of the Moontower Comedy Festival will happen in person this September.

Produced by the Paramount Theatre and sponsored by Cap City Comedy Club, which itself is preparing to resurface this fall in a new location after shuttering its longtime home during the pandemic, Moontower 2021 has a lineup scheduled for Sept. 22-25, 2021.

Among the comedians announced this week: Seven headliners performing at the Paramount and Stateside. They include: Moontower debuts from Dave Attell, Bob The Drag Queen, Leanne Morgan, and Jacqueline Novak, plus Margaret Cho, Maria Bamford, Brad Williams, and Dan Soder.

The initial wave of announcements also features comedians such as Andy Kindler, Doug Benson, Erin Foley, Jessica Kirson, Matt Bearden, Sam Morril, Moshe Kasher, Natasha Leggero, The Sklar Brothers, Vanessa Gonzalez, Hannah Einbinder, and Tom Segura en Espanol, a show performed entirely in Spanish. Additionally, Moontower will also welcome a number of stellar live podcasts and broadcasts to the festival stages. The 2021 program will include fest-favorites The 500 with Josh Adam Meyers, SiriusXM’s The Bonfirewith Dan Soder and Big Jay Oakerson, and Will You Accept This Rose? with Arden Myrin, as well as the Moontower debuts of  The Endless Honeymoon with Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher, Are You Garbage? with H. Foley and Kevin Ryan, Going Deep with Chad and JTDoug Loves Movies with Doug Benson, Jeremiah Wonderswith Jeremiah Watkins,andPod Don’t Lie with Sam and Stav with Sam Morril and Stavros Halkias.

“We’re back and better than ever. Our fans have grown to expect Moontower to deliver the freshest and very best in comedy, podcasts and events; this year is no exception,” says Festival Director Lietza Brass. “As if there wasn’t enough to celebrate coming out of an incredibly challenging year for live comedy, we are thrilled to be reuniting just in time to really ‘party at the Moontower’ in honor of 10 years growing what has become an incredibly tight-knit community of the comedy-obsessed.”

Additional performers will be added to the Moontower 2021 lineup in the coming months, including more headliners, podcasts, and a variety of comics playing club shows at Moontower venues throughout Austin.
