Free Health Care from Stand Up NY? What’s The DeaL

If you follow the comedy club Stand Up NY on social media, then perhaps you’ve noticed the club is promoting “free health care” during COVID-19.

What’s the deal?

I asked club owner Dani Zoldan. What he told me: “Coverage includes healthcare visits for things like stitches, burns, x-rays & cultures. Basically it’s anything what a typical urgent care would provide except if labs are ordered – there may be a fee for that. Also included are unlimited Covid and antibody tests. You can find out more about Kamin Health and their services here. We’re giving access to this healthcare to working comics – so comedy should be their full-time gig but we are flexible where if an individual is a serious comic (oxymoron?) and they are also working a job – we are happy to provide them access to this program as well. Kamin is covering 100% of the fees on behalf of the comics.”

The form to sign up is on the Stand Up NY site.

It only asks for your name, contact info (email, phone, physical address), and a listing of at least three comedy clubs you’ve worked at in the past pre-pandemic.

The partnership with Karmin Health runs through Aug. 31, 2021.
