by You may recall earlier this year how the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival came under fire for a lack of black women in the annual Atlanta stand-up comedy showcase.
The festival folk want to make sure you all know about the 2020 fest.
Submissions are now OPEN for the 11th Annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, which takes place April 23-26, 2020. There’s a submission fee of $30 through Oct. 20, with submission fee raising to $40 and $50 til the final deadline of Feb. 24. The 50 comedians chosen announced March 9.
The first eight years of the fest used a competition format, with industry judges named a winner who received a cash prize and gigs across America. Now it’s a showcase, allowing all 50 comedians to enjoy the full festival without competing.
