We’re still a month away from the start of SNL’s 45th season, and already, there’s reason to get excited for Christmas. In August!
That’s because Saturday Night Live already let us know that Eddie Murphy will return to host the Christmas holiday episode on Dec. 21, 2019. Murphy last appeared in an all-too-brief, not-enough-words appearance on the primetime SNL40 celebration. Five years later, it looks like he’s ready to deliver a monologue, bring back some classic characters and introduce some new ones. Get excited, people.
Of course, there’s plenty of episodes before then.
Woody Harrelson gets to host the season premiere with musical guest Billie Eilish on Sept. 28, 2019.
The following week, Oct. 5, it’s Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge hosting, with Taylor Swift providing the tunes.
