Just For Laughs revises plans for SiriusXM radio channel to showcase only Canadians

Your voices were heard loud and clear, comedians of Canada. Just For Laughs announced Wednesday that their impending takeover of the Canada Laughs channel of SiriusXM radio will now be called Just For Laughs Canada, “and it will showcase 100 percent Canadian content.” Bruce Hills, JFL’s president, released the statement after speaking with Sandra Battaglini from the Canadian Association of Stand-up Comedians (CASC). CASC had protested the station takeover, as comedians stood to lose a major source of income from royalty payments whenever their stand-up album tracks get played on the radio. Freestyle Love Supreme opens Academy to offer improv comedy training

There’s a new school in town for aspiring comedy improvisers. And it comes courtesy of the hip-hop musical comedy troupe Freestyle Love Supreme, best known for what its co-creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and director Thomas Kail have gone on to accomplish on Broadway. Now they’re ready to train the next generation at the Freestyle Love Supreme Academy. Review: Tone Bell, “Can’t Cancel This” on Showtime

In real life, Tone Bell’s not engaged nor married yet, but just like in Fam, he’s the product of a happily-married couple. Being an adult only child, with no kids of his own, might make Christmas awkward, but it allows Bell to lavish himself with all of the things he couldn’t necessarily enjoy when he was growing up.
