I received a press release this morning, the same release you saw on Twitter later if you happened to follow @PresidentShow.
“Late night TV is broken. A TOTAL DISASTER. I alone can fix it!”

But if you click through, the press release only adds this line: “NO FURTHER INFORMATION AT THIS TIME.”
My direct appeals to Comedy Central’s PR office yielded a similar one-line reply.
Which means one of two things.
- Anthony Atamanuik, the one true Trump impersonator and only accurate satirist of our current impeachable president, finally has his own late-night TV showcase and starring vehicle to deliver the fatal comedic blows to this real-life political disaster.
- Comedy Central is starting its April Fool’s pranking early this year.
Please let it be the former and not the latter.
Comedy Central has two Twitter feeds rolling as of now, @LateNightDonald for the purported “Official Twitter profile for the host of @PresidentShow. Make Night Late Again!” And the @PresidentShow feed, which lists as its bio: “#1 show on television, many many millions of viewers. Hosted by @LateNightDonald. Bringing AMERICAN JOBS back to late night.”
A brief interruption in Wednesday night’s The Daily Show made it seem like Russia had hacked Comedy Central’s TV feed.
What’s your guess?
