Opie and Anthony are no more as a radio duo, or as a team with Jim Norton, and so SiriusXM is moving forward by officially rebranding the Opie Radio channel on its satellite radio service (ch. 103/206) as Faction Talk. The name change, known about since late November, is effective Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.
its punk-infused sister channel, the music and sports-focused Faction (ch. 41). Faction Talk will debut on January 23 on Sirius channel 206 and XM 103. Formerly known as Opie Radio, the channel will fuse its unique brand of comedy with the edge and energy of the original Faction.
Now a spin-off of Faction, the punk music and sports station on SiriusXM founded by skateboarding icon Tony Hawk, Faction Talk will include Faction’s current midday host Jason Ellis as a bridge between the Jim and Sam Show in the mornings and Opie’s shohw in the afternoons.
How the schedule will roll out effective Monday:
- Jim Norton and Sam Roberts hosted by Jim Norton and Sam Roberts (8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. ET): Jim Norton and Sam Roberts blend the worlds of comedy and professional broadcasting seamlessly every morning on SiriusXM. Current events, pop culture, and original content—radio’s most dynamic duo does it all.
- The Jason Ellis Show hosted by Jason Ellis (11:00 am – 3:00 p.m. ET): A former pro skateboarder, pro fighter, and New York Times bestselling author, Ellis shares his humorous and irreverent worldviews on the daily program.
- The Opie Radio Show hosted by Opie (3:00 – 6:00 p.m. ET): Greg “Opie” Hughes along with friends of the show discuss current news, social trends, documentaries, sports, and celebrity guests.
