Not that this is a bad thing. But you couldn’t have been surprised, when Billy Joel sells out monthly concerts at Madison Square Garden, that fellow New Yorker and famous comedian Jerry Seinfeld couldn’t and wouldn’t extend his residency, aka “The Homestand” of shows at the Beacon Theatre after his 2016 run of monthly shows immediately sold out this year.
So Seinfeld has added at least 12 more performances at the Beacon between January and June 2017.
The 2017 dates are as follows: Thursday, January 5; Thursday, February 9; Thursday, March 16; Thursday, April 13; Thursday, May 18 and Thursday, June 8, with performances at 7 and 9:30 p.m. on all six nights. Tickets for all 12 shows available starting Nov. 16 at 10 a.m.
“I had a feeling this was going to happen. I have enjoyed doing shows at The Beacon so much it has become a bit of an obsession and I can’t stop,” said Jerry Seinfeld.
“We are so thrilled to welcome Jerry back for the second year of his wildly successful residency at the Beacon Theatre. His distinctive style of comedy and sense of humor continues to delight and entertain us all,” said Doc O’Connor, president and chief executive officer, The Madison Square Garden Company. “Like The Beacon, Jerry is a true icon of the city and ‘Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand’ is a uniquely New York event that can only be seen at one of the most historic and special venues in NYC.”
