Judd Apatow enjoyed a bit of fun at the expense of Matt Damon, The Martian and J.J. Abrams having a bit of fun at the expense of Apatow and comedians everywhere when he addressed the audience at the 2016 Critics Choice Awards.
Apatow first pointed out the absurdity of the “comedy” category at The Golden Globes, which went to Damon and his space drama this year, before also pointing out the year his Trainwreck star, Amy Schumer, had in 2015. “The MVP award! They made up an award to get her here,” Apatow said. “That’s how valid these awards are.”
