Ali Farahnakian is living the American comedy dream. Born in Iran and raised in North Carolina, Ali moved to Chicago after college and fell right in with The Second City, improv Olympic and the teachings of Del Close and Charna Halpern. Saying “Yes, And” to life led him to becoming and original member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, a writing gig on Saturday Night Live‘s 25th anniversary season, a one-man show that hit the festival circuit thanks to Word of Mouth, and opening The People’s Improv Theater (The PIT) in 2002 in New York City, where he still teaches new improvisers today. You may have seen him on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 30 Rock, Louie, Inside Amy Schumer and Delocated. Hear him tell his story now. Let’s get to it!
