Sydney Castillo wins first season of Funniest Wins on TBS

In case you missed it, the other Wayans brother with a televised comedy competition this summer wrapped up its first season last weekend on TBS, crowning Sydney Castillo the winner of Funniest Wins. So he was funniest. That’s how those words work.

Castillo takes home $100,000 and a development deal with host Marlon Wayans and his online webseries hub, WhatTheFunny.com.

Afterward, Wayans Tweeted: “CONGRATS 2 the ENTIRE CAST of @FunniestWinsTBS there were NO LOSERS! U all WON! Such a talented crop we were blessed w/ thx 4 settin the bar”

For his part, the winner also sent out a Tweet:

From Fort Worth, Texas, Castillo’s previous credits include producing a webseries with Russell Simmons called “The Green Room” as well as appearances on FX’s The League, Game Show Network’s Mind of a Man, BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood and Socially Offensive Behavior, as well as starring on Lifetime’s Prank My Mom.

There’s not much of Castillo on WhatTheFunny.com yet, nor much from the show online from TBS, but you can pick up on what Sydney was cooking this past year thanks to his own YouTube channel. Congrats, Syd!
