Meyers announced Monday afternoon that his longtime fellow former Saturday Night Live castmate Fred Armisen would be in charge of the 8GBand (as he hashtagged it on Twitter). “Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he’s off shooting Portlandia,” Meyers revealed, along with the photo above of him with Armisen and the band.
Late Night with Seth Meyers debuts Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, on NBC.
Portlandia’s fourth season (already wrapped) starts that following Thursday, Feb. 27. And Armisen has an EP of his British punk musician Ian Rubbish’s songs available for sale now.
