Garfunkel and Oates on HBO Digitals: In five easy pieces

Garfunkel and Oates — the musical comedy duo of Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci — filmed a pilot for HBO that would have had them follow in the footsteps of Tenacious D and Flight of the Conchords as a musical duo destined for greatness, if only people would recognize them for it.

HBO didn’t go ahead with a series greenlight. Lindhome and Micucci told The Comic’s Comic as much two months ago. But the pay-cable channel did agree to broadcast the G&O pilot for its subscribers. With a catch or two; those being, that the pilot is spilt Garfunkel and Oates into five mini episodes, and that it’s only available to HBO subscribers on TV via On Demand, or online via HBOGo.com.

Arden Myrin, Nick Thune and Matt Braunger are among the comedians lending their funny talents to the proceedings here.

And in this clip, from the second mini-episode, we see a new music-video treatment of the Garfunkel and Oates song, “Pregnant Women are Smug.” It’s safe for work, since they’ve blurred out the breast-feeding women in their YouTube version. If you want the NSFW version, don’t be at work and demand it yourselves.

Roll it.
