Have you ever felt so depressed that you called a professional clown company to send a clown over to your home to cheer you up? Comedian Tig Notaro has.
And Notaro has used that experience to write a short film that she’d like to produce called Clown Service. She has recruited Robbie Pickering (Natural Selection) to direct it, and other comedians such as Kyle Dunnigan to act in it. But she needs $10,000 to make her movie.
This being 2012, Notaro has turned to Kickstarter.
Notaro’s Kickstarter project has attracted 34 backers, as of this writing, investing $1,488 toward her goal, which she must reach by 6 p.m. Eastern on Aug. 3, 2012. Remember: With Kickstarter, if you don’t reach your goal by the deadline, you don’t receive any of the money. This is Notaro’s Kickstarter video appeal. Roll it.
Backers can receive T-shirts, signed tour posters, free tickets to see Tig perform live, and larger donations can have Tig perform live at their home, appear in the film and/or more.
If her appeal appeals to you, help the lady out!
Personally, I’d come over to her home and cheer her up if she needed it. I worked as a professional clown for a summer when I was younger, but all of my calls sent me to either birthday parties or company picnics.
