Nick Cannon is supposed to be easing up on his workload for his own personal health, but that hasn’t stopped him from selling a teen sketch comedy series to the Cartoon Network.
Yes.
The Cartoon Network. Not Nickelodeon, which had one of its earliest hits with You Can’t Do That on Television (and also gave Cannon his big break as a teen-aged sketch comedian with All That), but the Cartoon Network has signed on for a live-action sketch comedy series starring kids/teens. It’s not titled yet. But it does have a cast assembled, including Jeremy Shada, Shameik Moore, Brandon Soo Hoo, Shauna Case and Chanelle Peloso.
Quotes from the press release:
“Nick Cannon has created a contemporary take on sketch comedy that will launch the next generation of Cartoon Network stars,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network.
Cannon added: “Cartoon Network is the absolute best home for this series and I am thrilled to be working with them. As someone who was given an opportunity in this business at a very young age, I am always looking for ways to help shine the spotlight on up and coming young comedic talent and this show is the perfect platform for these future stars.”
