Saturday Night Live says goodbye to four, fires three and hires four cast members for Season 48

Lots of comings and goings this summer inside 30 Rock’s offices and studios for Saturday Night Live.

Long story short: Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson and Kyle Mooney bid adieu at the season 47 finale in May. In August, NBC revealed that Alex Moffat, Melissa Villasenor and Aristotle Athari also would not be coming back. And now they’ve announced four new hires to the cast: Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker.

UPDATED Sept. 20! Chris Redd also has announced he has left SNL after five seasons. Redd’s statement late Monday: “Being a part of SNL has been the experience of a lifetime. Five years ago, I walked into 30 Rock knowing that this was an amazing opportunity for growth. Now, with friends who have become family and memories I will cherish forever, I’m grateful to Lorne Michaels and to the entire SNL organization. From the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank you all enough.”

Season 48 begins Oct. 1, 2022.
