Well, this was different. Wednesday’s episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden promised a stand-up comedy performance by Trey Wakeman, whom Corden claimed they’d booked to perform back in March 2020 but had to reschedule all the way until now due to the pandemic. But Wakeman looked suspiciously like one of Corden’s writers, comedian Nate Fernald. And true to form, it all turned out to be a sketch.
