Alex Hooper roasted the judges on America’s Got Talent both when he first auditioned a few years ago, and again this year, and wasn’t going to let that stop him once he became the last comedian standing in the competition’s final quarterfinals.
Or was he?
This time, Hooper put a twist on it by reading a bedtime story to the judges.
Hooper told fans and friends he was OK with the results either way.
Writing on Twitter earlier Wednesday: “The outpouring of love I received yesterday was absolutely beautiful. Shooting live television for millions of people with untested jokes and no audience should be the most nerve-wracking experience of my life. But it wasn’t. Knowing I had the support of thousands of friends there was no way I could fail. It’s one thing to have an idea. But ideas are nothing without execution. Seeing this whole piece come together, I’m floored. The jokes, the stage, the illustrations, the outfit. This was so much more than stand up comedy. It was a piece of art. (Ewww laaaaaaammmmeeee) Tonight at 8 PM is the results show. Maybe I’ll move on. Maybe I won’t. But whatever happens, I’m so proud of what I’ve done up to this point. Thank you to everyone who shared, voted, watched, commented, and spread the message. Let’s keep this positivity flowing. #agt“
And now he’s gone, too, leaving no comedians in the semifinals of AGT for the first time in….ever?
