Comedy Central International Partnering with Edinburgh Festival Fringe for digital series

The folks at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe already long-ago called off this year’s August celebration, but some of the shows will still go on. Sort of. Digitally. On Comedy Central International.

As reported in The Hollywood Reporter,

Comedy Central at the Edinburgh Fringe, a series of 10 short digital specials, will air across Comedy Central International’s Facebook, YouTube and Instagram channels on weeknights starting on Aug. 17. Each special is only seven minutes long.

“The episodes will feature stand-up routines from 10 rising comedians and a host to be announced at a later date,” Comedy Central said. Highlights from those shorts, mixed with reactions from virtual audiences, will air as a 22-minute TV special on Aug. 28 in the UK on Comedy Central International.

Talent has not yet been announced for the event.
