Louis CK filmed his DC performances for potential new special in 2020

Fans of Louis CK who saw the comedian perform over the weekend at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., were abuzz on Reddit, not just over his new hour of material, but also because camera crews documented the whole thing.

CK last put out a stand-up special three years ago, Netflix’s 2017. It’s back on Netflix, along with two of his previous specials: Hilarious, and Live at the Comedy Store.

FX notably left Louie out of its much-publicized debut of a new FX on Hulu hub last week. But you can find his self-produced, self-financed series, Horace and Pete, on Hulu. And you can buy episodes or full seasons of Louie on Amazon. Amazon Prime members also can watch his specials Oh My God, Shameless, and Chewed Up, along with his HBO half-hour from 2005, his HBO series Lucky Louie, as well as Hilarious.

As for his new stand-up — which reportedly addresses the fallout personally and professionally for CK after admitting in the fall of 2017 to long-rumored allegations finally published in a New York Times story about his perversions — where it’ll be seen is unknown at this point. But CK did revolutionize the industry a decade ago by producing, financing and selling specials not only for himself but also other comedians (Tig Notaro, Todd Barry and Barry Crimmins, among them). So he very easily could choose that path now.

Perhaps not until his current tour wraps up.

He has dates through Memorial Day weekend listed on his site.
