Ren & Stimpy documentary goes Indiegogo!

Hey, remember that Ren & Stimpy documentary I was telling you about a couple of months ago?

Well, the folks putting together Happy Happy Joy Joy – The Ren & Stimpy Story done gone and cancelled their original Kickstarter campaign, despite raising more than $100,000.

“Our end goal was overly ambitious,” executive producer Ron Cicero tells The Comic’s Comic, and as we all know, on Kickstarter, any crowdfunding campaign is either all or nothing! So, better to make sure Cicero and company get the money they need…they’ve relaunched their campaign on Indiegogo. They’ve received about $45,000 so far. Check out their rewards and more…

Help fund Happy Happy Joy Joy: The Ren & Stimpy Story on Indiegogo!

Everything else I previously told you still applies.

They’ve already spent thousands of hours interviewing tons of folks involved in the production of the groundbreaking animated cult fave, and Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi has allowed his friends and former colleagues to participate, even if Kricfalusi himself hasn’t shown up yet. What they need now is post-production funding to pay for music, licensing, original animation and legal costs.

Happy Happy Joy Joy, The Ren & Stimpy Story sheds light on how a cult cartoon became an animation masterpiece and influenced television, comedy and pop culture, forever! The feature length film captures the surprising insights from 45 of the original artists, actors and execs connected to the show plus celebrity fans like Bobby Lee, Weird Al and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, among others. Help complete the independent documentary that’s been over a year in the making!
