Amazon orders series reuniting Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph

Fred Armisen just wrapped production on the eighth and final season of IFC’s Portlandia¬†(which will air in January), and the Saturday Night Live alum already has his next sitcom lined up — an Amazon Prime series reuniting him with SNL’s Maya Rudolph!

Amazon announced the straight-to-series pickup over the weekend.

Not much about the single-cam show has been made public yet, although look for Armisen and Rudolph to play a couple, just not Prince and Beyonce.

Alan Yang (co-creator of Master of None) and Matt Hubbard (who wrote/produced¬†with Yang on Parks and Recreation) are executive producing along with the comedy duo, plus 3 Arts’ Dave Becky and Brillstein’s Tim Sarkes.
