by If you wondered why The Late Show went into repeats last Thursday and Friday, that’s because host Stephen Colbert flew to Russia for a long weekend of work, filming segments that Colbert announced he’d be showing all this coming week.
Colbert had hoped his trip would be top secret, that he could get in and out without anyone noticing. But the opposite happened. Government agents, both Russian and American, followed his every move. And he made news appearing on the Russian late-night TV talk show by announcing he’d consider running for president in 2020.
