by Irish hypnotist Keith Barry will reprise his role from the British game show, You’re Back in the Room, when Taye Diggs hosts a new American version that goes into production this summer for FOX.
“The second I saw this show I knew I needed to be a part of it. It’s the most unique blend of comedy and competition I’ve seen in years,” said Diggs. “I’m also quite excited as this is a program I can watch and laugh at with my six-year-old son.”
The FOX version of ITV’s You’re Back in the Room may eventually adopt a different title, but across the pond, contestants work in teams to complete challenges after Barry hypnotizes them.
FOX has ordered eight one-hour episodes, with production starting in July.
Barry enjoyed a 2004 special on MTV, a 2006 special on CBS, then hosted Deception with Keith Barry for the Discovery channel. He’s also the chief consultant on the movie sequel, Now You See Me: The Second Act, due this summer.
Diggs was just on FOX this past year on Rosewood.
