Episode #62: Ronna and Beverly (Jessica Chaffin and Jamie Denbo)

Ronna Glickman and Beverly Ginsberg are allegedly best-selling co-authors of a book on marriage and re-marriage for Jewish singles, but these fifty-somethings from Boston actually dispense their unique brand of relationship advice on a regular basis at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles and their podcast on the Earwolf network. And also before that in New York City. And as invited guests at comedy festivals around the world. They’re also actually the characters created by comedic actresses Jamie Denbo and Jessica Chaffin — who got Ronna and Beverly a Showtime pilot in 2009. The pilot never got picked up, but their director Paul Feig worked with them again on a chat show for Sky Atlantic in the UK, and has hired them for several films — among them The Heat and Spy. You’ve also seen them separately on Orange is the New Black, New Girl and Episodes.

But they’re more fun together, so let’s get to it! I caught up with them at SF Sketchfest 2016 in San Francisco.
