Episode #35: Iliza Shlesinger

The industry trade publications broke news about Iliza Shlesinger’s newest gig just minutes before we sat down in her hotel room to talk during the New York Comedy Festival. Schlesinger is making and starring in a comedy series of minisodes for ABC’s new streaming app. But Iliza has been hustling, even since before she entered and won the sixth season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2008 when she was only 25 — she has released two Netflix stand-up specials since then and started her own podcast, Truth and Iliza. Up next, she’s hosting the game show Separation Anxiety for TBS which launches at the start of 2016, and she tells me about her one career dream that she’s still longing for and hustling toward.
