Amy Schumer to film HBO special at The Apollo directed by Chris Rock

Amy Schumer is about to film her first HBO stand-up special later this month, and Chris Rock will get behind the camera to direct her. “Amy is one of the most inspired comics working today, and we hope her first HBO special marks the start of a long and beautiful relationship,” said Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming. “This event is even more special because our good friend, the incredibly talented Chris Rock, is directing.” Schumer will record her hour May 29 at the Apollo Theater in New York City. Conan O’Brien and Team Coco filming “Conan” at Comic-Con 2015 from Wednesday-Saturday

Conan O’Brien has taken his late-night TV show on the road before, most recently in 2014 to Dallas in conjunction with the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four. Topping that feat this summer, Conan not only will film a week’s worth of shows in July from Comic-Con in San Diego, but do so from Wednesday through Saturday, and change the broadcast schedule to those nights. “We’ve never done anything like that before.
