by On Friday, Gabriel Iglesias became only the 10th stand-up comedian to ever play the full arena at New York City’s Madison Square Garden as a solo headliner.
Iglesias put that feat into perspective in a brief note to fans.

-Be on a sitcom
-Be in a movie
-Star in a movie
-Perform at Madison Square GardenTonight we complete the list 18 years and 7 days after I first hit the stage in April of 1997.
Thank you to everyone who has ever let me make them laugh. You made my dreams come true. Monday I’m setting some new goals in my life. I love you all.

The other stand-ups to headline the full MSG arena: Steve Martin, Andrew Dice Clay, Dane Cook, Chris Rock, Eddie Izzard, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Russell Peters and Louis CK. Half of those performances have come in just the past two years.
