Scene work from The Late Show with David Letterman’s “Improv” troupe

In case you missed it, Wednesday night’s episode of Late Show with David Letterman found our host Dave complimenting the great schools of improv comedy at The Second City in Chicago and Toronto, as well as The Groundlings in Los Angeles.

It was all just a set-up, though. The punchline: Letterman now, in his final year hosting late-night TV, has allowed his staffers to form their own improv troup, The Late Show Players. Their initial scene work is open to your interpretation. Sure seems like Letterman’s troopers need to brush up on their comedy skills. Or maybe they just don’t want you to like improv?

Roll the clip.
