CBS has figured out its guest-hosting plans for The Late Late Show for the first two months and one week in 2015, before James Corden officially takes the reins on Monday, March 9, 2015.
Drew Carey — The Price is Right host for CBS who traded jobs with retiring host Craig Ferguson earlier this year for an April Fool’s stunt — will kick things off the week of Jan. 5-9, 2015, and also end the guest-hosting rotation the week of March 2-6.
The second week of the rotation will feature the women of CBS daytime talker, The Talk, with Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood broadcasting “original after-dark editions from their own set” for broadcast Jan. 12-16.
Other guest hosts will include CBS talent such as Wayne Brady (Let’s Make A Deal host), Billy Gardell (Mike and Molly star) and Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory co-star), plus filmmaker Judd Apatow, actor Will Arnett, comedian and actor Jim Gaffigan, actor, producer and Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes, writer, comedian and actor Thomas Lennon, and GRAMMY Award winner John Mayer.
Sorry, other ladies who thought they could even get a slot guest-hosting a late-night talk show!
Or specifically, single ladies. Since The Talk is a group, centered around one lady (Julie Chen) who’s married to the CBS boss man, Les Moonves.
Wayne Brady and Aisha Tyler were on my list of favorites to host a late-night show in 2015, though. The other names from my list back in April? Neil Patrick Harris, who’ll host a variety series for NBC in 2015, and Chelsea Handler, who’ll host a new talk show for Netflix to launch in 2016.
The Late Late Show airs on CBS from 12:37-1:37 a.m., ET/PT.
