Fans of the AMC zombie series, The Walking Dead, will have comedian Chris Hardwick to talk them through its second season this fall — the cable channel announced today that it had ordered a half-hour chat show hosted by him to air following new episodes.
Actually, Talking Dead will premiere following the encore presentation of The Walking Dead on Sunday, Oct. 16. Beginning Friday, Nov. 4, episodes will follow the 11 p.m. encore airing.
At any rate, Hardwick will talk with fans, actors and producers about each episode after it airs, and he’ll also take questions and comments from viewers. AMCtv.com will add bonus interactive content as well.
Hardwick said:
“As an ENORMOUS fan of both The Walking Dead comic and television show, I pretty much begged for this job. I’m fairly certain I slobbered on the phone while doing it. Dissecting the moves of Rick Grimes and the remaining survivors after every episode is something I would be doing with my friends anyway, so the fact that AMC is actually paying to do so is a bonus. This half-hour after-show gives fans the opportunity to nerd out about the story in a very public forum: what they like, what they don’t like, or what questions they may have. Additionally, it will better inform viewers on making intelligent decisions when faced with the zombie apocalypse, which will probably happen sooner or later.”
In related news, Hardwick has a second TV series you can watch on the cable and/or satellite this weekend, as BBC America will air the pilot episode of Hardwick’s The Nerdist TV special following Doctor Who on Saturday night.
That half-hour will find Hardwick leading a roundtable discussion with Craig Ferguson and Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith, with commentary from his podcast colleagues Jonah Ray and Matt Mira, plus music from Hard ‘n Phirm’s Mike Phirman.
Finally the hottest lady on Walking Dead is on the Talking Dead. I think she’s going to become a super bad add under the tutolage under this cloaked mystery girl. Carol and Daryl need to hook up already, god knows they both need it ! Hey Rick, you should’ve put Shane down a long time ago. Yea sweet !
