Initial slate of headliners unveiled for 2011 New York Comedy Festival

A lot of big names in comedy familiar to past editions of the New York Comedy Festival will be returning to headline the 2011 edition this coming November.

Louis C.K., Tracy Morgan, Sarah Silverman, Ricky Gervais, Bill Maher, Wanda Sykes, Russell Peters, Kathy Griffin and Norm Macdonald are among the initial slate of headliners unveiled today to the media by Carolines on Broadway, which produces the fest in association with Comedy Central.

Pre-sale tickets for Citi and Verizon FiOS members is available tomorrow morning, with general public ticket sales offered Aug. 15. The fest itself runs Nov. 9-13, 2011, at venues including Carolines, the Beacon Theater, Carnegie Hall, the 92nd Street Y, and Brooklyn Academy of Music.
