Stephen Colbert’s Cartoon Trump earns spinoff sitcom series on Showtime

This past year has seen several late-night TV shows spin off their segments into their own series, and now it’s Stephen Colbert’s turn. Showtime announced today it has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of an untitled animates series starring the Cartoon Donald Trump who has made several appearances over the past year on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS. High noon will become The Power Hour on SiriusXM come Monday thanks to stand-up comedian Godfrey. SiriusXM announced today that Godfrey will host The Power Hour daily from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern, starting Monday, July 31, broadcasting from New York City on SiriusXM’s Urban View channel (126). truTV announced a start date for At Home with Amy Sedaris, and debuted a first teaser clip for the show today at the summer TCA tour. First impressions: New Faces of Comedy at Just For Laughs Montreal 2017

First things first: The best performances from Wednesday night’s debut New Faces showcases in Montreal came from Taylor Tomlinson, Martin Urbano, Preacher Lawson, Sam Jay and James Austin Johnson. Jerry Seinfeld tops Forbes highest-paid comedians list for 2017

The Netflix effect is affecting the list of highest-paid comedians for 2017. That’s the unmistakeable takeaway from the annual assessment by Forbes, which each year tries to make an educated guess at how much comedians have made in the previous fiscal year. Unsurprisingly, Jerry Seinfeld, who’s still raking in residuals for Seinfeld and also making money from his Comedians in Cars webseries as well as a new Netflix special coming later this year, topped this year’s list.
