Maya & Marty? Maya Rudolph’s NBC variety series may earn renewal as duo with Martin Short

This just in from reliable source Michael Ausiello at TVLine: NBC has given serious considerations to bringing back Maya Rudolph’s variety show as a series, but with a catch. Martin Short would be her partner in comedy crime, making the potential primetime partnership of Maya & Marty. Maya & Marty performed together to kick off a musical tribute segment in Saturday Night Live‘s epic SNL40 celebration. R.I.P. Ruhbin Mehta

Ruhbin Mehta died earlier this week, apparently from cardiac arrest. He was a comedian from Toronto who lived in New York City for the past several years, but continued to love the Maple Leafs more than anything except perhaps stand-up comedy and most definitely the possibility of a good night’s sleep.
