Kevin McDonald set for limited Off-Broadway run, “ALIVE on 42nd Street”

Kevin McDonald from The Kids in the Hall will mount his first-ever one-man Off-Broadway show: Kevin McDonald ALIVE on 42nd Street. It’ll run for only eight performances, Aug. 25-31, 2019, at Theatre Row NYC’s Studio Theatre.

“I’m very excited to be doing an Off-Broadway show though technically it’s on Broadway,” McDonald said. “I will probably be sharing cabs with cast members of Hamilton. So come see the show! And Hamilton! In fact just go see Hamilton… There, that’s good. What should I do now. I could eat. No, I just ate. I better go over my lines for my Off-Broadway show. No I’ll eat.”

Kevin McDonald ALIVE on 42nd Street will include stories and songs covering his life, family and career.

McDonald will be accompanied by guitarist John Wlaysewski from the band Late Cambrian.

The production will include scenographic design by Michael Redman (Renee Taylor’s My Life On A Diet)” and is produced by Jeremy Wein.
