Michelle Collins to host morning radio talk show for SiriusXM

Michelle Collins, comedian, talk show host and former co-host of The View, will host an uncensored daily show exclusively on SiriusXM’s Stars channel, starting this coming Monday morning, March 5, 2018. The Michelle Collins Show will feature Collins’ interviews with celebrity guests, newsmakers, experts and reality TV stars. She’ll also take calls from listeners, share personal stories and talk hot topics, as it were. Listeners can hear The Michelle Collins Show live from 8 to 10 a.m. Eastern weekday mornings on SiriusXM’s Stars channel 109 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices. Netflix orders 32 episodes of a weekly talk show from Hasan Minhaj

The Daily Show second-generation poaching is in full effect now, as Netflix has just announced its second new weekly talk-show from a correspondent who up until now was currently sidekicking it for Trevor Noah on Comedy Central. Netflix has ordered 32 weekly episodes of a Hasan Minhaj talk show. It’ll debut later this year. Title TBD, but Minhaj already had filmed a pilot that sparked a bidding war between Netflix and Comedy Central, among others. The format? R.I.P. Barry Crimmins (1953-2018)

He wasn’t from Boston, but Barry Crimmins accomplished more in the 1970s and 1980s to make the metropolitan area an artistically and financially profitable hub for comedy than any comedian, booker or club owner. He wasn’t Nicaraugan, but Crimmins traveled there to perform for the Sandinastas and rail against then-President Ronald Reagan,  at a time when comedians just didn’t do that sort of thing. He’d do the same thing a generation later, standing with Cindy Sheehan outside then-President George W. Bush’s Texas ranch to protest America’s invasion of Iraq on false pretenses.
